Mummychan's Diary 09.01.06 2009 has already arrived bringing it with it cold weather, the continuing credit crunch and hopes of a better time than we had in 2008. Now is the season of New Year's Resolutions and what better way to help both the environment and your bank balance than by using reusable nappies. Now is the ideal time to rethink your nappying habits and to make a new and greener start. Check out the Nappy Corner for ideas, products and advice. 08.09.27 Autumn is now well and truly upon us. As the days grow shorter and the nights colder, our thoughts turn to how to keep our little ones safe and warm as they sleep. The new range of Izziwotnot sleeping bags that we now offer on the site are a perfect way to do exactly that. Along with the Slumbersac bags that we already offered, they provide a way to keep your child snug and warm no matter how much they toss and turn in their sleep. They also make an ideal gift for everyone from newborn babies to toddlers!! 08.07.20 We'd like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came to our first two Red Rose Baby events. We held them in Okazaki and Nagoya cities in Aichi Prefecture and both were a great success. We really appreciated having the opportunity to meet some of our customers, to hear their views, answer their questions and to show them our products face to face rather than simply in photos on this site. The reaction from everyone was very positive and we are looking forward to holding more similar events in the future. Both the temperature and the humidity level are rising on a daily basis as heavy rain is broken by only a few sunny days. At this time of year, many parents worry about keeping their babies cool and dry, especially in the nappy area. They worry about nappy rash and discomfort being caused by the additional heat and humidity. Some even change from their regular use of reusable nappies to disposables for the duration of the summer. In our experience at Red Rose Baby, this change in not necessary. Both Tots Bots wraps and Modern Baby wraps are designed to allow air to flow through, helping to keep the humidity level inside down. All our nappies are also excellent at absorbing sweat as well as wee and will keep your baby as dry in the summer as they do for the rest of the year. We hope you and your children will enjoy using our reusable nappies throughout the summer and beyond. 08.03.28 Whether using reusable or disposable nappies, it is better for the environment to dispose of your baby's poo by flushing it down the toilet rather than by putting it in the bin, from where there is high probability that it will eventually end up in a landfill site. Transferring such solids from a nappy to the toilet bowl is made far easier by using flushable nappy liners that allow them to be picked out of the nappy and that can be safely put into the toilet along with them so that they can be flushed away together. These liners work well with both reusable and disposable nappies. Another item to make your eco-friendly life just that little bit easier... 08.03.12 Recently everyone is becoming more aware of the need to protect the beautiful environment we live in. We at Red Rose Baby are also concerned about environmental matters and would like to do our bit. We would like to help make it easier for you to live in a less environmentally damaging way by introducing products that reduce waste and pollution as well as by supplying information about how to change your life in small but effective ways, such as those on the Eco-lifestyle Tips page. As they say, "Think Global, Act Local". Together, we can make a difference. 08.02 We are very proud to announce the addition of Modern Baby Premium Shaped Nappies and Cotton Nappy Covers to the Red Rose Baby range!! These extremely cute and colourful nappies are very soft and user friendly. They also have the benefit of being sized nappies so that they give an excellent fit.
